Can’t join appointment waitlist

Hello, I am unable to join the appointment waitlist. I am scheduled for an appointment next week but want to be notified if earlier appointments pop up. I have tried many times over the course of days. I contacted chat support and they did not understand. My phone number is added to my Xfinity account, so that is not the issue.
