CAN-SPAM ACT Email Violation & Bogus Privacy Address
Changed my email address years ago because even as I'd opted out of marketing emails, I kept getting really useless marketing emails that were called service emails to me business address. Even as I changed it, I kept getting these useless emails. I have called and written for years, and as the email address is not in my account, everyone and their supervisor and their supervisor's supervisor throws their hands up. I got an email about sports channels in Colorado, where I do not live, at this address--A FEDERAL CAN-SPAM ACT VIOLATION--and spent three hours on the phone because the privacy email address listed on the site and in our privacy policy is bogus and bounces back. Security spent hours, told me I should try to "block the email" because they can't find it. I said call the department that sent the email and find out the database. No Go. I said call Legal. They said they can't. I said call IT. Same. Call Operations, call C-Suite. Get an adult to own this violation of federal law and outrageous privacy abuse years running. They could do nothing. Like all before them. Nothing.
I would like to find an adult at Comcast who can handle this simple piece of cake troubleshoot to root out the database that some [Edited: "Language"] in marketing is using illegally. I also got the useless email to my primary and my private email, so that makes three "service" touches for a paid out of state sports channel. Is company culture this horrific that the Security Department cannot escalate a federally mandated email deletion??????

ok, I just tried that. Please note that for years "support" has failed at this because the email is not in my account settings. With that, they plumb run out of any clue what to do.
You all seem utterly incapable of back tracing the email to a department, and then to a manager, and then to a database.
This is a very very very finite exercise. With super easy digital traces of every step that creates the violation. I even offered the email headers but of course "support" did not take me up on that. Said I should "block" the emails. Not a wise commendation for your violation of CAN SPAM Act.
Maybe just take responsibility and track down who is using old data that should have been scrubbed years ago? At any rate, once again, is in the hands of support per your DM commendation. I appreciate the reply. Other channels have ghosted me.
