Cancelled service but it is still active

I submitted to cancel my service but my internet and cable is still active. I want to make sure it will be deactivate when I return my equipment today.

Thanks for reaching out to us, if you already got the e-mail notification that your cancellation request was put in no worries your service will be cancelled on the date you requested it to disconnect on and the final bill we sent to you in about 2 weeks will show the dates of when you last had service. The line remains active for a couple of reasons, just in case a customer changes their mind we keep that line active for 10 days, we also keep the taps activated for the next customer that moves in so they can easily do a self installation process.

 

If you're set up for autopay you may have already received a statement billing in advance for the next dates of service. Depending on your due date you may be debited for the month in advance of service charges . Which means Xfinity would owe you a refund for the days you didn't have service,  which this link https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/refunds-from-xfinity has great information what to expect when the Xfinity owes you a refund.
