Cancel my Service

I have been trying to cancel my internet services for almost a month now with no luck. There are no working numbers to call, no links to go to to cancel online, nothing. I was told to sign up to get a call so I could talk to someone on the phone and cancel, however that was scheduled for about an hour ago and I have gotten no call. I am getting sick of the predatory nature of this company and I want it to be over now. Can somebody from Xfinity help me cancel my services ASAP? I really don't want to have to escalate this further outside of the company, but if I get charged another $100 I will have no other option.

Good afternoon user_ca75wo. I can assure you this is not the experience we want you to have. The 1-800-XFINITY phone number, will allow you to get in touch with a representative from our customer solutions. Also, if you have the Xfinity App, you can initiate a chat with the Xfinity Assistant, and say Schedule Callback or Request Callback, and there is an option for our customer solutions team. I will be more than happy to assist you with this request at this time. I will need some additional information.

Please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send it.

This company makes it nearly impossible to cancel. The chat assistant is a loop that goes nowhere. The scheduled callback never happened. I had to dig for a real phone number just to speak to someone.

When I finally got a person on the line, they refused to cancel without grilling me about where I moved, what provider I switched to, and how much I pay. I said no. Then I was lied to and told they needed my new address to send a refund check. I checked later. No refund was needed. They just wanted the info.

I did get the service canceled, but only after jumping through every possible hoop. Xfinity is designed to trap you. If you’re thinking about signing up, think twice. If you’re trying to cancel, be prepared for a fight.

  • Call 1-800-XFINITY (1-800-934-6489).
  • When prompted, say "disconnect services" to be connected with the correct department.
  • Be firm but polite. The representative will likely offer you deals to stay. Decline them clearly and repeat your request to cancel.

(Above was mostly plagiarized from Google AI)

I followed these steps just a few minutes ago, I didn't have any of their equipment so hopefully, I understand I am done, gone... I'll find out... was an unusual conversation, smh
