Cancel my internet service

I moved into an apartment that already has an Xfinity wifi modem installed so I had to set that one up. How do I end my old one?

user_g63p4r Thank you for stopping in for help with your modem now that you moved to a Wi-Fi-ready location. That is a great question! Your services, like your name, account profile, and plan, should still be able to be moved if your community is not provided with the internet for free. All you should need to do if that is the case is return your old modem.

You can check to see if your account was transferred in the Xfinity app in the account tab, you may see your old address still. If not, we would want to make sure the old account is disconnected for you, as well as get the modem back.

Are you able to check the Xfinity app account tab to see if you just see the one address?

I did it online myself and set up a whole new WiFi without thinking about transferring so I see both

user_g63p4r Thank you for letting me know. For the future, we do have a Move process to help make taking your services with you easy. In that case, you more than likely have two separate accounts set up one for your old address and one for your new. For the old modem, there are a few return options, including stopping into an Xfinity store location. Are you able to check out the locations near you to see if you can stop in in person?

If so, I would recommend taking the old modem in and speaking with an agent to help with the return and requesting the disconnect. Please make sure you ask for a disconnect since returning your modem does not close out the account.
