Cancel free peacock subscription

How do I cancel a free peacock subscription (not the premium plus)? I am an internet only customer.

Hello, @user_zvcdib If you sign up for Peacock through your Xfinity X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Xfinity Flex TV Box, you’ll be billed by Xfinity, and you can manage your Peacock subscription plan through your TV Box! This includes viewing, upgrading, downgrading, or canceling your subscription. If you signed up for Peacock directly with Peacock, you’ll be billed by Peacock and can use your existing credentials to log in on X1, Xumo Stream Box, or Flex. However, you’ll need to visit peacocktv.com to manage your subscription. You can check the details of your subscription.

  1. Go to Settings on your Xfinity X1 TV Box, Xumo Stream Box, or Xfinity Flex streaming TV Box.
  2. Go to the Apps & Subscription menu.
The Settings page is displayed with Apps & Subscriptions selected.

    • You can also find this menu by saying, “Manage Peacock” into your Xfinity Voice Remote.

If you’re billed by Xfinity for your Peacock subscription, you’ll see:

  • The recurring price.
  • The renewal date.
  • Options to manage or cancel your service.

For free promotional offers you may need to go to xfinity.com/account to remove it.

I tried going to xfinity.com/account first, but I could not find an option to remove the free subscription that I receive through my internet service with xfinity. I tried chatting with someone on the xfinity stream store site and they could not help. I spent over half an hour talking to someone in xfinity customer service and they could not help.

If you are saying that it can be done through the xfinity.com/account website, please provide exact instructions because I could not find it and neither could 2 support representatives through phone and text chat.

You won't be able to remove the free version @user_zvcdib. The Peacock app is now available to everyone, whether you're a customer or not. It's a streaming service from NBCUniversal. Comcast is the parent company of NBCUniversal. NBCUniversal comprises media and entertainment assets, including the NBC broadcast network, Universal Studios, theme parks, and the Peacock streaming service. You can get more information here peacocktv.com/help/article/cancellation. May I ask why you want to remove it?

That is very poor customer service to not allow you to cancel a subscription to an optional service. I would like to purchase an annual subscription to peacock premium plus from peacock directly, but peacock will not allow me to make any plan changes because I get the subscription through xfinity. I can upgrade to the premium plus subscription through xfinity, but they only offer a monthly option so it is more expensive to go through xfinity than getting the annual subscription directly from peacock.

I appreciate your assistance. The only workaround I could think of was to create a new peacock account and abandon the old one. Thank you for your time.
