Can you assign a device to the closest Pod instead of the Gateway?

So my son has his ps5 next to the pod which is upstairs in his room, but the ps5 is forcing itself to connect to the gateway which is downstairs. Is there a way that I am able to make the ps5 connect to the pod (which is right next to it) rather than having the ps5 force itself to connect something which is across the house from it. Xfinity says that the device will automatically connect to the closest signal but my device is connecting to the furthest signal.

Hi there @user_xyrcq thanks for being a part of our Xfinity Community Forum. I hope you're having a wonderful day and awesome weather!

No, you cannot manually assign a specific wireless device to connect to an xFi Pod instead of the gateway, the network automatically determines the best connection for each device.

That is a terrible answer.  I am having the same problem I have a pod located in my office and my tv will connect to it, but my printer and my pc will not.  I have moved the pod into the hallway outside my office and I still get the same results.  My pc connects to the slower gateway every time and I often receive a "Poor Network" signal when video conferencing for work.  This is unacceptable especially because I am paying for a high speed connection that I am not able to use.

@user_tylty0 I am sorry for the inconvenience of not being able to manually assign a device to the pod. An alternative option would be hard-wiring via ethernet direct to the pod with those devices to avoid them searching for the preferred Wi-Fi signal. Older pods should have 1 port and newer ones will have 2.
