Can someone confirm whether my apartment’s coax outlet is ready for Xfinity Internet?
I’m moving into a condo at [Edited: "Personal Information"]. I checked the Xfinity website and it says Xfinity Internet is available at the address.
The apartment has a coaxial wall outlet.
The owner doesn’t know whether this specific outlet has previously been used for Comcast/Xfinity.
Is there a way for Xfinity to confirm from its records whether this unit has an existing/previous Xfinity connection and whether this outlet should be ready for self-installation?
If the outlet is physically installed but not currently active, would a technician be able to activate the existing coax connection, or would additional wiring be required?
I’m trying to confirm this before move-in rather than discovering that the outlet isn’t connected when I try to activate the service.

@jekoh Thanks for adding a post. As long as there hasn't been a change of providers, the outlet always remains working for the next tenant. Once they request service, we activate the location and send the signal from our plant. Techs used to be required to connect the unit at the junction box, but that's not needed anymore. We turn it off and on depending on who needs service, and leave the outlets be nowadays. That makes it easier for everyone moving in.
Do you want us to review the order and location? We can check the notes for the location and determine if you should be able to self install easily.
