can i change internet service plan with a future date

I have internet service with 1 year contract and the contract is nearly up.  If i want to change plan, can i make the order prior to the exact contract end date?  If not, will i get charge for early termination for my old service when i change plan before the contract end date?  

Also i am using my own modem, when i change plan, i will need to switch to a compatible modem that support higher mbps, so should i switch my modem before i request for the plan change?

Hello and thank you for taking the itme to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums! Those are fantastic questions and I can answer a few right here. You can set a time for your new promotion to take effect as long as it is not more than 30 days out.

 

You can also change your plan at anytime without having any early termination fees as long as you keep one line of business (cable, internet, etc.), the modem I would need to see what kind of modem you are using and what speeds we are looking at. Which I am more than happy to do as well as help you find a great new promotion.
