Can I change account ownership to the new tenant at my apartment if I've since moved out of state?

Hi,

A few days ago I received a scheduled call from Xfinity to talk about returning my equipment since I was about to move out of my apartment. The representative let me know that I could instead transfer my service to the new tenant. I was able to find the form through these forums, but I understand since it's sensitive information I need a secure emailed link to submit the document and my ID. I've seen the advice that it's easier to go with the new account owner to an Xfinity store, but I moved out of state and it's not possible for me to go back.

I've followed the instructions on this page: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/account-ownership-change but I can't get the automated assistant to tell me how to request the account change request form. I see this is a common issue folks have, so I'm sorry to bother employees again - if anyone could tell me how to get the automated assistant to stop directing me to the address change information or tell me how to get in touch with an Xfinity employee that would be great.

Good evening @user_dxay24, and thank you for reaching out to our dedicated Communities team tonight and hope you are having a wonderful Labor Day Weekend so far! We are sorry to hear about the issues you have been running into with your account change request but rest assured, you've reached the right team to help. We can get a ticket submitted to have the necessary documentation emailed to you.

To start on the ticket process, we will need to first collect a few pieces of information. Can you please send us a Direct Message with your first and last name along with the service address on the account including any applicable unit or apartment numbers?

To send a "Direct Message" ("Private") message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

  • Click the "Direct Message chat" icon
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it

We look forward to working with you further!
