Cable/WiFi in a separate building
I'm finishing the inside of a new building in my backyard. It will have a small living space in it. I don't know who to talk to to find out what infrastructure needs to be installed so I can extend my cable and wifi out to it. I'm guessing I need to run a coax cable from my outdoor splitter box to the new building.

Hi! Thank you for posting here in the Community!
How cool that you're building some form of a clubhouse in your backyard, very neat. It's very likely we will have to run a separate line from our connection outside to your new building, so you are correct with your theory! There are limitations with this though, and we do prefer to do the work for you when it comes to our lines/equipment. Depending on how far the distance is, there may or may not be enough signal strength to support the distance. It really is going to depend, but this is something we can certainly discuss further to determine logistics. Are you planning on installing electrical wiring and a cable jack in this location then, it sounds like?

Yeah, it's a project that's been in the works for a few months. It's the new man cave / she shed. :-) I guess figuring out the signal strength will be the first thing to do. One thing I think I have in my favor is that my main coax line to the house comes directly off the Comcast pedestal out by the power pole.
To answer your question, yes I have an electrical outlet and cable outlet installed in a spot where I assumed we could put a gateway for that building. My brother in law is only a few miles away, but there's a different provider for cable/internet. They had him run a coax to the man cave and he pays $10 month for a separate wifi modem. I figured it would be similar here, so I put an empty conduit underground for a coax when I installed the underground electric.
