Cable Running Across the Back of Property
Who in customer service can I contact to find out that status / reason for a unburied cable going across the back of my yard into the utility post on the corner of my property?

Hello, and thank you so much for joining the Xfinity Forums, jaled. I really appreciate you reaching out to get more information about your underground cable line. I know this process can take time, and want to make sure you’re kept informed every step of the way. To help keep things as transparent and stress‑free as possible, we’ll provide updates via text message and/or email as work progresses on replacing or installing your underground cable line. Please keep in mind that this work is completed in stages. You can also check on our progress at any time by visiting xfinity.com and clicking the banner at the top of the page for the latest details.
A quick note: To receive text or email updates, you’ll need to have a mobile number and/or email address listed on your account.
While we work hard to complete projects as efficiently as possible, there are times when delays can occur. Some of the most common reasons include:
Permits: In certain communities, permits are required before underground work can begin. Approval timelines can vary and may take anywhere from five to 30 days.
Weather conditions: Rain, snow, or other weather impacts can affect ground conditions or equipment availability, making it unsafe or impossible to dig. Because weather is unpredictable, the length of these delays can vary.
Underground utility locates (if applicable): Before digging, all utility companies must either mark their lines or confirm there are no existing lines in the work area. Delays may occur during this survey process.
Other factors: Special events, nearby construction, access limitations, or the need for additional equipment can also affect scheduling.
If any delays do occur, our underground crew will reach out to explain the situation and provide an updated estimate for completion.
I hope this information helps set expectations and offers some peace of mind. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have additional questions. We’re here to support you throughout the process.
