Thanks for taking the time to visit our forums' page to let us know about the cable being installed on your property without permission. I would have the same concern if I saw subcontractors installing cable on my property. We will do everything within our power to help. Can you tell me if you were able to speak with them and if they were able to provide you with any additional information?
Ah, okay. @user_046a97 May I ask if you happen to have an account with us?
After researching this further, normally this would fall under Easement rights which are a public utility right-of-way that helps Comcast maintain its equipment. In areas where Comcast has cable lines, the space for the lines is rented from the public utility. Any easement that may exist on any property is always noted on the title report for that property. The title report is provided to the property owner at the time of the purchase by the title company. We’ll attempt to contact the property owner prior to entering any backyard or private property. Even if we can’t make contact, we have the right to access the property in order to maintain our equipment for both Xfinity customers and non-Comcast/Xfinity customers. For more details on Easement rights, please feel free to visit this link.
I have been a customer for over 20 years. No one contacted me and the line installed was not in an easement. It would have been good customer service to inform the property owner first.
@user_046a97, over 20 years wow! Thank you, we really do appreciate you! Sometimes tenure goes unnoticed, I definitely recognize the value of a long time customer. I do apologzie you were not notified the line would be placed on your property. Did the crew that you spoke with indicate if the line is temporary, or would be buried?
