Blocking Youtube

Does anyone know if there is a way I can block Youtube from being able to be streamed from devices linked to my internet account?

Greetings @user_532578 thanks for taking the time to write our team over our Forums. I see that you have some concerns about blocking certain websites and I am glad to help. Please take a look here https://comca.st/3tEeX0c for the details on how to set up parental controls on the web and block sites.

@XfinityJorge I see Parental Controls but its only an Off/On toggle. I cant locate where I can specify what sites I want blocked. Is there a better link you could provide?

When you activate parental controls it will allow you to begin editing the feature to block specific websites.

I am desperately trying to block youtube.  The parental controls are only toggle on/off. Even when I turned them off and back on again. I was never given the option to block a specific website. Please help!

Hello @user_b2e643! Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your day to leave a post on our community forum. Hopefully, this helps. Depending on the type of Wireless Gateway you rent from Comcast, you can access Parental Control settings in one of two ways:

  1. Through the Xfinity app or xFi website at https://comca.st/3p6izFc, from anywhere with an Internet connection. xFi is available for Xfinity Internet customers with a compatible xFi Gateway See our Xfinity app overview for additional information.
  2. Through the Wireless Gateway's Admin Tool website at https://comca.st/3v38OLP using a computer or device that is currently connected to your home network (either wired or wirelessly).

Set Up Website Blocking

To set up website blocking from the Wireless Gateway's Admin Tool website:

  1. Go to https://comca.st/3v38OLP.
  2. Log in with your Xfinity ID and password.
  3. Go to Parental Control > Managed Services. The Managed Services menu allows you to prevent access to applications and services.
  4. Select Enable, then:
    • Blocked Sites: Click Add and enter the URLs of the websites to be blocked, and set up a time schedule.
    • Blocked Keywords: Click Add and enter keyword(s) that appear on websites you want blocked, and set up a time schedule.
    • Trusted Computers: Specify the devices you would like to retain Internet access on your network by marking Yes next to the device name. If a device is selected as a Trusted Computer, it bypasses the configured Parental Control settings.

Please let me know if you are still having concerns with blocking websites.

The concern is not "accessibility / disability" help related. Thread moved here to this help section.
