Billing credit for changed plan

Will I receive a credit if I change to a lower rate plan in the middle of a billing cycle? An online "agent" repeatedly said the plan would take effect immediately but the new price would take effect 3 weeks later when the new billing cycle begins. I pointed out that means I would be paying for something I no longer receive. The "agent" had no understadning of the issue and kept repeating the plan starts now, price changes later info .  Any help here?

Thank you for reaching out to our team. That is a great question. If you make a plan change during the middle of a billing cycle there would be a prorated credit on the following months bill for any overcharge for that period. The billing change takes immediate effect once an order is closed, it can take a few days for the account to reflect the new pricing online or on the Xfinity app.
