Bees in our Xfinity box in backyard

Hi -

We have tried calling but have not been able to get through to anyone so I’m posting here. We have bees in our cable box and wanted to let you know. Not sure if they can cause damage and you want to remove them.

Thanks

Hello @user_iegmoc, Thank you for taking the time out of your day to leave a post. Sorry to hear you have been having issues getting through to report your bee issue. You have reached the right team that can handle your concern. The box that you are referring to is it green in the yard, or is it the lockbox that is attached to most homes?

Thank you for your response. The box is a green box in the yard along the back fence

user_iegmoc You're welcome. However, our repair teams don't handle any bees or wasp removals. Customers must make sure a technician can access all areas in and around their home to complete the work (if an appointment is needed). Because of this, customers might need to remove bees or wasps from lockboxes. If a technician thinks it's unsafe to handle, they may ask the customer to hire a professional to remove the hive before finishing the work.

This box services many of our neighbors, not just our home. Do we need to incur this expense on our own?

user_iegmoc It would be an expense Xfinity doesn't cover or do any work on for what you're asking at this time.

Ok. Well, it’s not causing issues for us at the moment. We were concerned that the bees may cause damage to the box and, since it’s your equipment, that you may want to be aware.
