Bally sports

How come you can't negotiate with Bally sports? They are going through bankruptcy. I would think it would be that hard to come to an agreement. Watching the Royals games Is one of the only reason I stay with Comcast. I will have to look into another provider if this problem persist.

Hello @user_5idf8e, Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your day to leave a post on our community forum. This is a great question! We pay networks and station owners for the ability to deliver their programming to our customers. We negotiate agreements to bring our customers the best value for the content they want. Unfortunately, our programming agreement with DSG has expired. We have made a number of reasonable offers that DSG hasn't accepted. This means we no longer have the rights to carry their channels, including your local Bally Sports network. The loss of this channel will result in savings that we’ll pass along to you, and you’ll see an automatic credit in your bill in the coming weeks. Great sports programming, including NBA, NHL, and MLB national coverage, is still available with Xfinity. Just say “Sports” into your Xfinity Voice Remote to explore your options. You can also press “C” on your Xfinity Voice Remote to go to Sports Zone and see available sports content. Nationally televised games will continue to be carried by TBS, FOX, CBS, FS1, MAX, ESPN and Apple TV. Check your local listings for upcoming games or contests.

I believe the ONLY network that can show Twins home games us BSN. So one needs to go with Direct TV or Fubo? Even with the BSN app one cannot get home games?

Hi @annbachleitner,

According to the Twin's website, they plan to broadcast exclusively with Bally Sports. However, you can likely still catch their cames on the MLB App with a subscription. You can visit their site for more info.

@XfinityChelseaB Because Bally Sports is the primary reason we subscribed, I assume you will waive the early termination fee when we change providers.  The service provided has substantially changed and we cannot replace it for the $8-$10 credit offered.

user_pmjtdg, I know that it is upsetting to lose a channel that you like as a baseball fan myself. Disconnecting services when under a term agreement would incur an early termination fee unfortunately as we may rearrange or change programming, features or offerings that are a part of our services. Even those that we provide under promotional offers. We regularly evaluate our XFINITY TV to ensure it includes the best combination of programming options to appeal to our customers. To submit your feedback for this channel, please visit this link.

Here is also a link to contracts for channels that have recently expired or may expire soon, as well as other recent and upcoming programming changes. Once a channel contract expires, we no longer have the right to carry that channel and associated on-demand content on our platforms. Loss of broadcast stations listed here would include loss of the multicast signals, if any, associated with the stations.

@XfinityVianney Except mlb has HUGE blackout regions that don’t even allow viewing of road games. So no, not an option for many viewers.

Are you still in negotiating or is this a lost cause? I don’t know enough about the situation, but I blame DSG and Comcast equally. Your lack of concern for your customers is disappointing.

Totally agree it is the ONLY reason! But I am in a contract and they have early termination fees if you drop them despite, to me, they broke the contract with me when they dropped BSN so shouldn't I be able to drop Xfinity?

Metro Atlanta is Braves Country. Comcast needs to fix this. I plan to cancel my cable until Comcast brings Braves games back. I'll be saving more than the $8-$10.

I think XFinity (Comcast) was trying to [Edited: Language] BSN - and get a lower rate than other carriers are paying them.  Their crummy $8 per month credit won't come close to touching the MLB and NHL fees to

get a chance to watch the Twins or the Wild - by the way - the Twins took the monies from BSN and gave up the rights to allow customers to see them on MLB in local markets.  So Twins fans are totally

[Edited: "Language"].   I'm going to start looking at options other than XFininty/Comcast.   When you pay over $1,000 a year for cable TV, it's out of control :(

I know this change was frustrating for many customers, and I can understand why you feel this way, considering you are losing a network you watch the most and rely on. We do value your business, and we appreciate everyone's feedback. We'll continue to work with networks and partners in hopes to bring our customers the best service possible.

@JJDAME5 I changed over to Fubo which works for me but maybe not for everyone.

The fact that Bally Sports and Comcast/Xfinity can't get in a room a figure this out is ridiculous.   How about a little effort in trying to resolve this.   Both sides need to give a little - so figure it out.   Management on both sides should be ashamed at how petty they look here.

I agree. Comcast is about the money, not the customer. All this trouble could be resolved if Comcast would just take the deal.

@user_ognxa8 I think if DirectTV and Fubo can carry Bally Sports North then Xfinity/Comcast should be able to.

The only reason I still have cable is live sports. I literally get everything else I watch from streaming services. Fix this! And stop trying to sell us on the “reasonable” offers you have made…We don’t care! Get it done. [Edit: Language]

TOTALLY AGREE!!!! If they truly cared about their customers this would not be an issue. I am giving them a month to get things worked out. I already started Fubo which carries BSN and the channels I watch most. So if they can't get it done then they will be losing another customer. I have been with Comcast/Xfinity since almost it's inception and am greatly disappointed in them for letting this happen. I still don't understand how Fubo and DirectTV can carry BSN but Comast/Xfinity can't seem to be able to get a deal done. They may so much money off of their customers maybe they need to lose customers so they understand the impact of this incompetence. Hitting their pocketbook may be the only impact they understand.

There are so many senior housing developments as well as other organizations for veterans and disabled people who are customers of Comcast/Xfinity. Many are home-bound and have little joy in their lives. Many love to be able to watch the Twins and now they cannot because of this discourse between Comast/Xfinity and BSN. I know these executives could care less but it is just sad they can do this to the most vulnerable of people. $$$ wins over heart I guess. Just a sad, sad commentary about our society and values.

@annb156 I’m with you. They have until July 1st to get Bally bad on Comcast. I don’t have a contract so I can leave at any moment. I’m streaming now and will continue to watch the Braves. I also have internet and mobile phone with Xfinity and I’ll cancel them as well.
Xfinity is NOT the only provider of services.

Still being billed for bally and yet nothing. Only reason we have the cable was to get sports. Time to cut the cord and save our budget money

@Wingnutters I understand the frustration with losing a network you enjoy. In April of this year, our agreement with DSG to carry its RSN Bally Sports expired. As a result, we are no longer authorized to carry Bally Sports with Xfinity or Comcast Business, including any related programming on Xfinity Stream. Between May 28 and June 7, customers will see an RSN fee credit applied to their bill for the loss of this channel from their lineup, along with an associated bill message.

Just quit all the drama and get a deal done. Can't you see how many people are getting tired of Xfinity excuses. Comcast is profit over people.

Exactly! Are they even negotiating? Why can Direct TV and Fubo carry Bally Sports and not Comcast? I would like to stay with Comcast but I miss see my local sports teams. If they can't come to terms I will need to drop Comcast. I have Fubo temporarily and they have great quality streaming and all the channels I watch. Come on Comcast..think of, if not your customers, your business losses. A lot of people have left cable for streaming services.

I feel the same way. I got Fubo to watch Braves and Comcast will be gone in the future. Most of my neighborhood is switching also!

so foolish on their part. I’ll switch mobile phones and internet as well.
