Bait and Switch, after 18 years I am about to call AT&T to inquire about their services
So long story here, A bit over 2 years ago I called Xfinity to inquire about available deals to potentially look in a lower rate for my existing plan. I was moved back into a triple play plan. I was happy with this plan and the savings, even if I never actually used the landline. I was paying $214.92, then it jumped to $291.40 at the end of my two year contract. My plan was Ultimate TV, Max , Showtime, Hitz, DVR Service, Gigabit Extra Internet and Xfinity Voice Unlimited Select.
When I called in to ask about any new promotions or to see about locking in another 2 year agreement, I was aggressively sold on converting my landline to a mobile line. I was told my total bill would be around $245 and all my services would stay the same. So I agreed. Unfortunately, what ensued was an endless nightmare of lies and confusion. I got the cell phone on 5/16/2024 despite numerous attempts, several phone calls, and visiting a comcast store in person the phone was not activated until 6/25/2024. Xfinity then billed me for not activating the phone they couldn't activate. I then found out the claim the cost would be bundled was inaccurate and I have a separate $26.44 a month. Not only that, the discount on my TV and internet bundle never processed so I was only getting about a $20 discount. I had to call in several times again and was bounced between mobile and TV/internet. They eventually found the original $245 I was quoted in May and said it would apply in August with NO CHANGE IN MY SERVICE. So now my $245 a month is more like $269.81 a month with a cell phone I don't need and I am not actually using.
The kicked now is evidently the NO CHANGE IN MY SERVICE was a lie as of 8/1 I no longer have my premium channels despite the fact they still show on my bill. I am now told I only have the streaming services for HBO max and Showtime. Well HBO Max works but Paramount+ with Showtime isn't. Now I am being told I have to pay like an extra $40 a month to have the plan that wasn't supposed to change. So getting a cell phone I didn't need, that didn't work for a month and a half, which I was then charged for it not working. After being told I'd have a $245 bill for what used to cost me $214.92 is not potentially $310.
Can someone from Xfinity just revert me to my plan from last month and let me return and cancel this cell phone. Otherwise I am calling AT&T and asking about their plans. I have spoken with 2 reps on the phone today, several over chat, and one via the forum messanger. I just want you to honor what you told me and not sell me things I don't need. I am attaching the change in services from my last bill, I have been told several times today I need to add HBO Max and Showtime to my plan, despite the fact they were not removed.
