Hello user_s8evmu it sounds like the Talking Guide has been enabled on your remote! Press and hold the A button (triangle) on your Xfinity voice remote for 3 seconds to toggle the Talking Guide on or off.

Announcement of TV volume and mute state are most likely performed by your TV set, not by the cable box (or by the Stream app, if that's what you are using). Neither one has any idea what the volume is set to, or whether or not the set is muted.

If the cable box is unplugged or its HDMI cable is disconnected (or if the Stream app is not running), do the announcements continue? If you change the TV's input to anything other than cable, do the announcements continue? If they do, it's the TV set.

Note that the "Talking Guide" the employee mentioned isn't called that. The Accessibility options they might be thinking of are called Audio Description and Voice Guidance.

If you post the TV set's model number, maybe we can help.
