Attempted Phone Scam

My wife received a voicemail stating Comcast/Xfinity was offering a 50% discount on our service. I was very suspicious from the outset but wanted to see how it worked. It was the same scam reported in other posts where you pre-pay for so many months of service and get a 3 year fixed rate on your service. The six month payment must be made using Target gift card. Be careful everyone, it is a very well run scam. The introductory recording sounds just like the intro music and announcements on the actual Comcast/Xfinity telephone lines. The person I spoke with was also very convincing. The problem I have, and would like an Xfinity official to address, is the scammer had my next bill's correct amount. How did they get that information? I certainly didn't give it out.

If you have gotten a call claiming to be from Comcast asking you to buy gift cards or paying upfront for six months or more in exchange for 50% off your bill the FTC is well aware of this scam.  If you get a call like this you can report it to:     https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
Please help to stop the spread of this kind of fraud.
Thanks!

I believe it's an employee of Comcast/Xfinity. The scammer knew my all my Comcast/Xfinity information including name, phone number, and monthly bill amount. I never gave them any info about me. Or else Comcast/Xfinity has been hacked

@bigbug once I realized that this was a scam I said that I would make a decision on my account when my subscription expired. I forgot to add my credit card that I had on file with Xfinity was charged $400 which I’m in the process of getting taken off of my credit card and returned from Xfinity.

This also happened to me.. HOW did they know the payment amount without receiving ANY information??? These scammers also went into my account and changed the payment method from my credit card to a bank account using my phone number.
