App Based MFA

Hello,
I've submitted some support tickets in the past with no real action. Hoping to post on here to gain some traction.

Xfinity should really offer an app-based MFA option. Whenever I turn on MFA, there is no way for me to either - use the XFINITY app OR use a 3rd party authenticator app. This is ridiculous. XFINITY is a huge ISP yet there is only SMS based MFA? When is this feature going to come??

Hi there, @yosef_flatbed Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day. I truly understand your concerns regarding having an app-based MFA option. The Xfinity app offers four different methods of authentication when using two-step verification:

  • Yes/no push notifications (in-app or in the notifications bar)
  • Biometric scanning (facial or fingerprint)
  • Traditional text message or email codes
  • A code generator in the app.

I appreciate your feedback, which we take from our customers very seriously since that is how many changes take place from feedback like yours.-Richard

Thank you for your response. Is this in the purple Xfinity app on the App Store?

When I log in it says "Access not supported"

Hi there, @yosef_flatbed I'm sorry for the trouble you are having trying to download the Xfinity App. Yes, that is the correct app which is the Xfinity App from the App Store. You may want to check your phone to make sure it's not blocking it.-Richard

@XfinityRichard​ Could this be because I am not the primary account holder? Why would this be blocking my access to the app? I can only access XFINITY Stream.

@yosef_flatbed  great question, depending on your user role set up by the account holder items on the Xfinity app may be vague or in less detailed due to that. This link https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/primary-and-secondary-accounts will guide the account holder to the different levels that can be assigned.
