Already have it. Why should I switch the modem?
My wife went to store to sign up for new service bundle contract. We have same 1.1gps internet, downgraded the cable channels , and added 2 mobile service lines. Before she left the store the guy at the desk said we need to change modems and gave her a new one to put in then return the one we currently have. Why change them since it is the exact same gateway I already using? Both are XB8 gateways. I also have a “pod” extender upstairs to expand range. To get my devices all working with the modem I currntly have I had to have a tech come to my house and configure everything. If I switch I will probably have all same issues as before on the one I have that the tech fixed. What is benefit of switching modem?

Thank you for reaching out and creating a new post. I see you recently made some changes at the local store, and they provided you with a new gateway. However, it's the same XB8 you had before. You can certainly keep the same XB8 you have now if you've had no issues or concerns. If you didn't request the new device, they may have included it based on how long you've had the equipment. We also have some legacy customers with xFi Complete who qualify for a new device every three years, ensuring the hardware and components don't fail after some time, which is covered here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfi-complete-tech-upgrade. That said, it's generally done as a precaution or optional feature if needed.
