Adding a second modem to the account

Under the previous plans we were always able to add a second modem to the account for a 50.00 monthly fee i see that this is not posible under the Next Gen plan looks like the P5D code was removed , Is this intentional  or is this a thing that was overlooked ?  Is xfinity going to resolve this issue ?

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Appreciate you getting this moved over EG, and hello user_japty9! Thank you for taking the time to post your question in our community!

When it comes to Next-Gen plans specifically, customers subscribed to them cannot have a second line of Xfinity Internet service, which means they cannot rent a second modem. The Next Gen pricing allows only one internet-capable device per household, so if you need multiple devices, it's recommended you make your best effort to consolidate to one device. This could always change in the future, and I'll certainly pass this feedback along, but as of now renting a second modem is not an option under the Next Gen plan.

I was looking for a answer to my original question and i think you missed the point , Are you a employee and  have working knowledge behind the seen?  I need someone to answer why its not possible today to add a second modem when it was possible last month. Was this change implemented by design or was this  overlooked ? The codes are still on the system but we get errors adding the service.

PS: In question adding a second own modem to the account with already a rental modem present  and not adding a second rental modem.   The service code B01 for $50.00 always allowed a second modem on the account it was added for people with special requirements. Why is it taken away?

Hello user_japty9 , I cannot speak to the specific decision-making of why it is not allowed anymore with the new plans. Nor have they shared any intentions of adding the option back in. But it is no longer an option with the newer plans.

user_japty9 This depends on what area of the country you live in. Can you let us know what state you live in?
