Hello, @user_vfn2uv! Thank you for reaching out regarding the changes you'd like to make. Our team is happy to provide all the information you need, assisting in any way we can :) Adding Paramount+ to your Xfinity service depends on whether you want to bill it through your Xfinity account or just use the app on your X1/Flex box with an existing subscription.

 

Option 1: Sign Up Directly Through Xfinity (Billed by Comcast)
If you want the convenience of having everything on one bill, you can subscribe via your TV box:

1. Open the App: Say "Paramount Plus" into your Xfinity Voice Remote, or press the Xfinity button and navigate to Apps > Paramount+.

2. Select Sign Up: Choose "Sign Up for Paramount+" inside the app.

3. Choose Your Plan: Select either Essential (Ads) or Paramount+ with SHOWTIME (No Ads + Showtime).

4. Confirm: Enter your Xfinity Purchase PIN (if you have one set up) to finalize the subscription.

 

Option 2: Sign In with an Existing Subscription
If you already pay Paramount+ directly or through another service (like Amazon or Apple), you do not need to pay Xfinity for it again.

1. Open the Paramount+ app on your Xfinity box.

2. Select Sign In.

3. On the Web: A code will appear on your TV. Go to paramountplus.com/activate on your phone or computer and enter that code.

4. On my TV: Simply enter your Paramount+ email and password using the on-screen keyboard.

 

Important: "Paramount+ with SHOWTIME" vs. The App
There is often confusion between the cable channel and the streaming app:

- The Channel: If you "Add Paramount+ with SHOWTIME" to your Xfinity TV package for $12/mo, you get the live Showtime channels and On Demand content.

- The App: Crucially, we are not currently a "TV Provider" partner for the Paramount+ app. This means even if you pay for the Showtime channel on your cable bill, you cannot use those credentials to log into the standalone Paramount+ app for free. You must subscribe to the app separately to see app-exclusive content like 1883 or Star Trek.

 

Compatibility Check
The Paramount+ app works on most of our equipment, but it is not compatible with these older boxes:

- RNG150

- Pace Xi3

- Samsung XG2v2

- Arris/Pace XG1v1
