Accidentally hit forget device for WiFi home network

I accidentally hit forget device on the Xfinity site for phone on my home WiFi network. I didn’t recognize the device but later found out it was my phone just not the regular profile name assigned to it.

I’ve tried every link and app and even video relating to trying to add a device again. No luck. Various Comcast assurances and help but nothing yet. even a promise of a fix in an hour big that was several hours ago. Nada.

This had happened before in the past and I was able to fix it via the website yet can’t now. Any suggestions? It’s driving me crazy. Thanks.

Hello @JokerPenn711 I am sorry to hear you have been having issues getting this device readded back to your network I know if it was one of my primary devices it would definitely be frustrating to not be able to use my Wifi when at home. So thank you so much for reaching out on our community forum for help, you have come to the right place!

If you could send our team a private message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you. Hello @user_be6731, thank you for reaching out today with your concern. Once a device is removed from a profile, this will remove the device from the Connect section and unassign it from the profile it was associated with, if applicable. It will also permanently delete all historical network activity of this device. If the device reconnects to your home network, (you may have to have the device forget your network and reconnect it to your wireless network), it should then appear as a new device. Once the device is reconnected and appearing as a new device, you should be able to assign it to the appropriate profile by following these steps:

Under Assigned Devices, select Assign Device.

Click the checkbox next to the device(s) you want to assign.

Finish assigning devices by selecting Assign

We also have a helpful how-to here: Managing Profiles with Xfinity xFi - Xfinity Support that will go over how to manage your user-profiles and assign/name newly connected devices.
