50% off promo ending
I received a call from [Edited: "Invalid Phone Number"] a voice recording letting me know my promotional services for 50% were ending at end of day today, and to avoid losing my discount I needed to call the phone number on my caller ID. Please beware these scammers are out this season and it will only get worse the closer to tax return season. I would hope xfinity comcast would address these issues ASAP. Thank you, happy holidays.

same here, call on 3/18. pretty sneaky too, as it's one of the automated voices (not a real human) that's similar to a lot of the voices you hear when you call big companies' support lines. Exact transcript on voice mail (call from a 217 area code):
"Hi, this is Comcast Xfinity. Your 50% discount on your monthly is set to expire in just a few hour. Tto lock in your savings, call us now at the number displayed on your caller ID. Thank you."

Received the same recorded message on 4/3/25 from a 401-area code: Your 50% discount on your monthly bill is set to expire today, and your next bill will reflect the standard rate. To continue receiving this benefit, please return our call at the number displayed on your caller ID before it's too late. Thank you.
I freaked out when I got the call, because I had just downgraded my service to reduce my monthly rate, which was supposed to be good for a year. Luckily, I just now had some time to call Xfinity about this today (which is my least favorite thing in the world besides a root canal). Before calling the 800 number (NOT the 401 number), however, I checked my account online, which still showed my current rate in effect. Now suspicious, I did an online search for the possibility that this might be a scam, and lo-and-behold, found this webpage. Thank you, Xfinity community, for saving me a dreaded call to Xfinity "customer service."
