5 year rate lock not honored

I see many other complaints on the Xfinity site stemming from one or more Xfinity Reps in 2025.  Was it one agent? Or were many of them telling this lie to have people locked in at a higher rate after a year?  Or did the rep make up her own deal to get sales, and then the “audit team” removed it?  We can never trust Xfinity Reps and I am filing and FCC Complaint.

I signed up for Xfinity Internet in July of 2025 with 300 mbps for $55/month, with a 5-year price lock. I had issues getting someone out to bury the cable, and issues in-store getting the 1-year free mobile line set up. Over this timeframe I spoke to a rep about the problems.  She said there was a better deal available for my internet: 500 mbps for $55/month, with a 5-year price lock.  I took this deal.  My monthly price did not change and I did not notice the change in the fine print on the bill.  Now it's September of 2026, and my bill went up by $30 last month because it was only a 1-year price lock. After hours on the phone with Xfinity agents, they will not stand behind what I was sold, and they will only look at current deals.  Hours of hold-time, multiple reps and no one who will stand behind what I was given a year ago.

The concern is not "Home Networking" help related......... Topic moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

user_3fzwlc Thank you for reaching out, and we understand your frustration and apologize for the experience you have had. Our 5-Year Price Guarantee was introduced in 2025 to provide eligible members with long-term price stability for internet services. When account changes are made, members are required to complete a member approval process that presents the services, pricing, promotions, and applicable terms for review and acceptance before the order is finalized. This process exists to help ensure the offer selected is reviewed and accepted with full visibility into the order details. Unfortunately, we are unable to reinstate expired or unavailable promotions.

I will be submitting my text messages to the FCC along with my complaint.  I have proof of the Rep's exact offer.  Xfinity should stand behind this rather than have Reps change deals to 1 year so customers' bills go up more quickly.
XFINITY REP July 2025:  Do not worry about that; please ignore it as it will revert back to the 5-year discount. This is a tech issue.  You are ordering the following service: 500 Mbps for $95.00 per month.  You will receive the following monthly discounts: a $10 discount for Autopay and Paperless Billing and a promotional discount of $30.00 per month for 60 months.

TO OTHER FORUM MEMBERS... you can find texts and approval requests from reps at text number 266278.  This is the same thread as your billing and installation messages. [Edited: "Soliciting"]

@user_3fzwlc  We understand, and thank you for letting us know. Escalating through a third party takes much longer to investigate and resolve cases. During that time this forum and the employees are hands off until the third party case is resolved. We'll follow up in two weeks to check on the response. If there are questions or concerns on a different topic, you're welcome to add a different post to get help.
