4K Set Top X1 Box

I currently have the XG1v3 X1 box and purchased a 4K TV. I understand I need the v4 box to gain 4K support. The info on the Xfinity help site said that when trying to play 4K content the box will bring up an error with option to get a compatible box. I followed the instructions by saying "4K" into the Xfinity Remote and selected a 4K movie to watch. I did get an error that said the cable box was unable to play 4K content, but had no option to request a compatible box.

I am in the same situation. I just got 4K and went to Xfinity store to get a new 4K box. They told me that they no longer carry them because of issues they're having with them. I only went to the store because tech service told me to do so over the phone to resolve my issue of poor reception. The store gave me a  new box, and the highest setting I can use is 1080i or 720p (not even 1080p). If this doesn't get resolved, this long-term customer will be cutting the cord for better options.

ask the store for an xg1v4 (4k DVR, no clock on front).
