2 Accounts, 2 separate service lines, Same address

I am unable to get ahold of anyone who can assist me with setting up a separate line of service at my home address. There is already one Xfinity gateway and service issued to this address and am going to set up another just for me entirely with my own modem and router as well. It IS POSSIBLE to have two account AND two separate service lines at the same address. I only want Xfinity internet not Xfinity TV too because I know that only one account can have both for the two accounts to work properly at the same address. I know of this having been done and there was no issues and there wasn’t any need to tweak the address or any other sort of unnecessary things. I just need an agent that is well versed in their job that can handle this for me. All other agents either give different answers or simply unhelpful. Please can I get in touch with someone so I can get this over with.

Hello @user_2u3zy4, thanks so much for taking the time to reach us with these questions on adding additional service to an address. It is technically possible to have 2 separate lines coming into a location and to be under different names.  This does involve splitting the address with USPS, essentially making a separate address that we can then connect. This is not a quick process, but we're happy to take you through everything 1 on 1, so we can get this started.  Please send us a [Edit: Contact Information] direct message.

@XfinityAlfonso  I’m having the same problem, I’ve had a technician come out, talked to multiple xfinity customer service reps, stopped by the store, now have a second install appointment for tomorrow and I am not hopeful at all that I will get anything other than wrong answers or the run around like I have been getting for weeks. I would love some help. My mother had her xfinity internet installed last year, she lives in a small house on our property and now we are ready to switch my home from star link and I’m finding it impossible.

@XfinityAlfonso Hi Alfonso, I will need to do this, as well. I moved from an apartment to the same house as my landlord, and they have Xfinity internet, so we will need to split the address if needed.

@user_3z7hqc Were they able to create two separate services for you?

Is the address recognized as a legal apartment by the USPS? If not there can only be 1 account per address. You can have 1 business account and 1 residential account if you wanted to look into having a business account such as a home office.

@FoodAndMusic No unfortunately. I was told by the technician that we needed to have the store go into their system and put something to distinguish the 2 separate addresses. Like one to be the normal address and the other to be -A or something similar. We ended up just ordering a 200 ft Ethernet cable and a router for my house and have strung it from my moms house to ours in the back.  I’ll update this if I’m ever successful.

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

I was just told by Comcast that I cannot do this very thing because I can only have 1 service drop per an address. This is absolutely ridiculous. I am looking to run another service drop for my work who MIs letting me work from home. I spent three weeks trying to explain this only to have Comcast tell me I need a separate address. My zoning office laughed and said we WILL NOT create you another address so that you can get Internet service. What do I do?

This is absolutely crazy because I have 48 acres and want to connect my cabin/ garage up with high speed internet. I am in a rural area and Comcast is the only service I have access to. There is a utility pole with Comcast service right on the roadside I want to hook up to. It’s a 100 ft connection to hook it up to my utility pole where my garage is. I am so upset being a loyal Comcast customer for so many years.

@user_yoyct3 Thanks for reaching out! The information you have received is true, each residential location or address can only have one Comcast cable drop, and one Xfinity Residential account. Your location may be eligible for Comcast Business account which would be separate from your Xfinity Residential services. The Comcast Business Team can be reached at 800-391-3000.

Hi, I am having the same issue, and I dont know what to do. I am working from home and I really need my internet modem connected to my work PC. If not, I will be unemployed. I have been working with this company for years and cannot give up my positions just because of all this internet issues. Is there a solution for this case?

Hey there, @doekmin. As my colleague has mentioned in the first reply on this post, you can have multiple accounts at the same physical address, however, there needs to be a legitimate USPS address for both accounts. An example of that would have the regular address:
123 Home St, Somewhere, MA, 01234
and the additional address be listed as something similar to an apartment, just labeled as a home office:

123 Home St, Apt Home Office, Somewhere, MA, 01234.

This is the requirement to have multiple accounts for one physical address. Once the address is in the USPS database, we pull from their system and we would be able to add that address to our billing system and start a second account. There are a few hoops to jump through but we definitely can get it accomplished. Is there a specific reason you need two accounts for one address?
