$100 Tech/Service/Activation Charge
I do not recommend using Xfinity if you have any options at all. Firstly, they are the ONLY company that requires payment for a tech to come out. Secondly, they are the only company I know of who requires “equipment rental” as a large part of their billing hidden fees. Thirdly, they will tell you setting up your equipment is easy and the tech fee wouldn’t be necessary as long you can do it. Only if you follow their steps step by step and the equipment doesn’t even light up they still want to charge you the $100. I should not be charge for your faulty equipment or faulty lines outside of my house. I shouldn’t have to pay $100 for a service every other company provides for FREE. Fourthly, their tech reps are rude and useless. You can not get directly to a rep. You have to jump through hoops to get one on the phone and when they do get on the phone their only solution is to walk you through the same steps you just preformed in the app, as if you can not read. After that they tell you that, “oh wow yeah your equipment isn’t working a tech rep will have to come out”. Will they waive the fee? No. Will they consider that there is nothing you can do on your end? No. Will they at least show empathy over the fact that you now have to drop more money on an already over priced service? No. They’ll tell you that you signed a paper (that the sells rep just shoved through the phone for you) and you will pay the $100 or you will cancel and they really could not care less.
