Thanks for nothing Comcast

We all know each year prices go up due to the cost of doing business and giving us the best value and  what they call VALUED CUSTOMERS as long as we pay our bills .

Today I received this unwelcomed notice

Our commitment to bringing you the best in entertainment requires working with programmers to offer a range of options while managing the rising costs of programming.
As part of our new programming agreements with NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California, both channels will move to our Ultimate TV and Digital Preferred packages on Tuesday, January 14.
As a result, effective January 14, you'll no longer have access to NBC Sports Bay Area and California as part of your current TV package.

As a  customer for over 50 years, I’ve always had the Basic Expanded, Starter, and now Popular plan which included this particular set of channels. However, with one day notice, I had to switch from Popular to Ultimate in order to keep the channels that I want . Had I not done this I would’ve received a one time back payment of $16 , lost four  sports channels and still had to pay the same price that I was paying a year ago. Nothing new added  just more channels lost.
Pay more Get less Value.  A Comcast motto.
After  verifying with an overseas customer service representative and assuring me that I would not lose anything including my Peacock which I get as a Diamond member I upgraded  to a $30 more package. I think  the one thing that angers me the most is that I had  one day notice when it should’ve been 30 days it’s not like Comcast did not know this was happening. They never ever provided any updates in previous statements  and believe me I review everything monthly and the thing that’s more frustrating is I’m paying $30 more for two channels that I can get over the air for free or using a Roku device.
WARNING  to other customers beware you may be losing your Regional Sports channels in the future too, I recall reading on another thread that some had already experienced this and with  shorter notice.
If one of the moderators would like to address this to the general public I welcome it, but I don’t need lip service because we all know that lip service is what most provide.

Put the greed on the sports franchises and RSN's. This is happening around the country. According to a post on another forum, the RSN fee for those in the lower tiers will be dropping by a monstrous $16.90. That is significant.

Face the facts. If you are a sports fan, the day of subsidized costs are disappearing. More and more you will be paying the FULL cost of watching sports.

Comcast owns NBC, so you can't really point the finger at anyone else.  That being said, I don't watch the local sports and this will save me the regional sports fee so I'm actually getting a cost savings.
