“Your Xfinity bill is getting simpler”

I received several of these messages, explaining that my billing date may change (or may not) and, as the title says, that my bill “would be getting simpler”.

It was, in fact, the title of every communication regarding this change of billing date.

But it was never explained how my bill would be actually getting simpler.  Indeed, changing my service billing date only complicates my billing; it has zero effect on simplifying it.

I’m genuinely curious:  How is my bill simpler?  Is the text bigger?  Are there fewer lines (i.e., less actual information) on my bill?

I know, I know — it’s just random marketing talk.  No one holds Comcast/Xfinity to anything they say.

But I’m genuinely interested in why someone would title an email “Your billing is getting simpler” with the only explanation being that my service date may or may not randomly change for no explanation at all.

@creeble Xfinity is simplifying billing by moving to Full Month Billing: customers won’t see prorated (partial-month) charges or credits when they add, remove, move/transfer, or disconnect services. Upgrades take effect immediately but won’t be billed until the next billing period; downgrades remain in effect until the period ends and the new charges start next cycle. This aligns billing dates with service dates, reduces unexpected charges/credits, and makes monthly bills more consistent and easier to understand.

Thank you for that explanation, XfinityLinda.  I’m still not sure what system has been used in place of “Full Month Billing”, but it does not appear that a customer like myself — who uses only one service (Internet), and has not upgraded / downgraded in years — would see any benefit in the change.

I’d love to hear from customers who find the new billing actually simpler.

But thanks for the explanation in any case.

Hello @creeble, you're welcome, and since you don’t make changes to your services very often, you may not have encountered partial-month charges or credits on your previous statements. Previously, when a customer changed their services, the bill could include prorated charges and credits. With the new billing process, customers can begin using their updated services immediately, while the new charges will be reflected on the next month’s statement instead.

I love it I finally open my bill and it's not doubled it just shows what I owe currently and I no longer have to make a payment arrangement for the past due I can pay on the date when it's due and not at the beginning of the next billing cycle this is probably the smartest thing they've done in my 16yrs of service.
