XM only fee

Before moving to San Antonio, my Xfinity internet promotional plan expired, and I noticed that my monthly bill had doubled. I visited an Xfinity store to ask whether there were any other promotions available that could help lower my internet bill.

The representatives offered me a package that included an iPad and a separate data line for the iPad. They explained that by signing up for this package, my home internet bill would be reduced to $50 per month, and that this promotional price would remain valid for five years.

I specifically told them that I was planning to move to San Antonio and asked whether Xfinity provided service in that area. They requested my exact future address, which I provided. After checking it, they explicitly confirmed that service was available at that location.

Based on that information, I agreed to the offer and purchased the iPad and its associated data plan, believing this was a good way to save money on my internet service.

However, when I moved to San Antonio, I discovered that Xfinity does not provide internet service at my new address.

As a result, I had to cancel my home internet service, but I am now stuck paying for an iPad and a data line that I have no actual use for. On top of that, I am being charged an additional $25 per month for canceling my internet service.

I would never have agreed to purchase the iPad or its data plan if I had been correctly informed that Xfinity did not provide service at my new address. I made this decision entirely based on the information provided by Xfinity representatives, after specifically disclosing my upcoming move and giving them my exact address.

Unfortunately, my husband also has a mobile line with Xfinity and is currently making monthly payments on his device, so we are still financially tied to the company.

What I find particularly unfair is being charged an early termination fee when the reason for canceling the internet service is that Xfinity cannot provide service at the address where its representatives assured me coverage was available.

I am requesting that Xfinity review this situation, waive the $25 monthly early termination fee, and consider a fair resolution regarding the iPad and its associated data line.

I trusted the information provided by your representatives when making this purchase, and I should not have to bear the financial consequences of incorrect information given by Xfinity.
