Xfinity Account Closure and Incorrect Equipment Charges Affecting My Credit Score

I recently closed my Xfinity account after fully paying off my balance. However, before I could successfully close it, Xfinity had charged me over $300 for equipment that I never had or rented. I always used my personal router while subscribed to their internet service.

Throughout 2024, I attempted to close my account multiple times (August, October, and November), and each time, I informed Xfinity’s support team that the charges were incorrect. They assured me they would clear them. Finally, when I officially closed my account this month (March 2025), the support team confirmed that the false charges were removed.

Despite this, I have spent days communicating with various Xfinity departments—both online and over the phone—about these wrongful charges. Now, Sunrise Credit Services has contacted me about collections for this nonexistent equipment. I have never had this equipment, and these false collections have tanked my credit score.

I need Xfinity to contact Sunrise Credit Services immediately to remove these fraudulent charges from collections and restore my credit score. This has been an exhausting six-month ordeal, and it needs to be resolved now.
