Wrongfully Sending Debt to Collections! We paid everything when we closed our account!

We paid our account off and closed it back in 2022-2023 and now 2-4 years later they’re all the sudden sending fake debt to a collections agency and it’s ruined our credit. I will be looking into legal options considering we tried to dispute it and they somehow verified fraudulent charges.

The concern is not "Community Center" help related............ Topic moved here to the proper help section, and for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

@user_yavcef,

Hi! Thanks for reaching out. I can certainly understand the inconvenience caused by being sent to collections after paying off an account. Especially after paying off and closing the account years ago. You absolutely shouldn’t be seeing a new balance sent to collections, and I understand how upsetting it is to have your credit impacted over something you believe was resolved. You've reached the right place. Our team of experts is dedicated to providing solutions to collection concerns over social media. We can help get to the bottom of it. I can review the old account, the closure date, and the balance history to see where this new charge came from and why it was “verified” during your dispute. Once we have the exact details, we can work on getting the incorrect collection entry removed. When you’re ready, please send us a direct message with your first/last name and full address. You can start by clicking the "direct message" icon in the upper right page of our forum page. Once you click on that, input our shared handle Xfinity Support to send us a direct message.
