Will I get charged for this device?

I upgraded my Internet speed from 150 Mbps to 300 Mbps, but for some reason I was sent an XB7-T modem/router in the mail. I don't need a new modem or router. Will I get charged for this?

I only posted here because it's impossible to get support from the company directly. Their "Assistant" never loads. Is this forum not viable either? Should I find an Xfinity store to bring the device to and bang on their door?

Concern moved here to the Billing help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hello user_1youtz, honestly, it depends on how the order was placed. I can take a look at that for you and help you avoid unwanted equipment charges. Going to a local store is an option, but let's try to save you some steps.

Please send us a direct message with your full name and complete service address to "Xfinity Support". To do so, click on the direct messaging icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:
How to Send Us a Direct Message:
To send us a direct message:
1. Click "Sign In" (If necessary)
2. Click the "Direct Messaging" Icon.
3. Click the "Start New Conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
4. In the “To:” line, type "Xfinity Support".
5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
