Why the Games with the pricing?

My internet plan cost nearly doubled this month because my "discount" period is ending.  According to my bill, it appears it will automatically increase more in another year when my "promotion ends".    I have to say that this is a strange way to treat your existing customers (been with Xfinity for more than 5 years now) when I can switch to FIOS and pay much less.

It's because they ARE playing games.    When your promotion expires, your rate goes up... you must then "contact them" to get a new "promotion"..  see below?  they don't send you to a site where you can weigh your options and have transparency like they do for "new" customers.. rather, they contact you so you so they can wear you down on some other promotion with the goal of adding some other service that you don't want or need so that the next year when that promotion wears out, they jack up your rate again.  They don't even list out what their basic plan are for existing customers so you can make an informed decision.   They will make it extremely difficult to cancel the unwanted serves that came with that particular "promotion".. why do they play games?   because they can and it is a "game" to them to see how much you can finally take before you get fed up.
