Why doesn't Xfinity wave early termination fees for PCS for military?

I don't understand why Xfinity is not waiving my early termination fee for a military PCS to a location that does not offer xfinity/comcast service, in violation of the Service Member Civil Relief Act. I have tried calling and emailing multiple times and they always say that they will take care of it but I still have the charge on my bill. I guess Xfinity does not respect the military or the law. Service Members Beware.

We appreciate your service @user_ktiu0g and proudly support our customers that serve. We'd be more than happy to review the Early Termination Fees and help make this situation right. To get started, can you please send us a Direct Message with your first and last name along with the service address on the account?

To send a "Direct Message" ("Private") message:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

  • Click the "Direct Message chat" icon
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it

Thank you for not helping me. I will report this up my chain of command and our legal team to let them know Xfinity does not abide by SCRA laws.

Yes,

I would like help with an ETF. I am AD military on PCS orders, my new address does not have Xfinity service available.

Unfortunately, being outside the Xfinity footprint does not authorize a credit for ETFs. I understand how this could become very frustrating, but there is nothing more I can do at this time.

Duron,

this is incorrect.

Per the SCRA https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?req=(title:50%20section:3956%20edition:prelim

A service member may terminate a contract if they receive military orders to relocate for a period of not less than 90 days to a location that does not support the contract. This includes internet access service.

Additionally, the service provider under the contract may not impose an early termination charge.

Our apologies for the error and misinformation @user_ktiu0g as it is our policy to credit active duty military members for Early Termination Fees. Your account has been properly credited and we will circle back with you soon to make sure you are seeing your online account updated to reflect your new balance. We proudly support our military and customers that serve. ❤️
