why do new customers get deals and long time pay more?

Comcast has a $29.99 a month promotion for 300 MB internet. We pay $93 so I called and asked for $29.99. They said they'd give me $79 because $29 is for new customers. I reminded her we've had comcast for 20 years. We're loyal customers.  I say I won't pay that and tell her I'll disconnect. So she says she has to send me to the "retention department." (Who knew Comcast has a retention department?) Retention lady drops it to $59.99. I ask for the supervisor's supervisor and he won't budge. So after an hour on the phone, I finally say UNCLE. They text to me my new agreement and after I click ACCEPT, a big window pops up that says "Get your 300 MB internet from Comcast for $29.99!" This is outrageous.  Why would you do this?

Hello, @user_e2c356, how are you? I hope your Thursday has been a good one! It's true we do offer introductory rates to new subscribers, but it's also true that we offer good deals after you've had service. Promotions and pricing will always be market specific, but we'll always do all we can for you. I can make sure you have the best deal available to you. When you have a chance use the Direct Messaging icon at the top of the page to send your name and service address to "Xfinity Support."
