Why can't I just pay the difference when cancelling?

Why do I have to pay the full amount of the billing cycle to then get a refund for nearly the full amount 2 weeks after they want me to pay when I cancel? I would rather just pay the prorated amount so I'm not out nearly 90 bucks for 2 weeks.

user_hcv4ck Thank you for reaching out to us here today with your billing questions, I can help! Your Xfinity final bill will not update until after the account has closed, paying only the prorated amount that would be due the date your account closes may cause a $10 late fee to be added to the account for the remaining balance. You can fin more information on refunds through Xfinity here https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/refunds-from-xfinity.

To add to that.... If you're in a contract when you cancel you might be liable for an early termination fee, so be aware of that, also.
