Why am I being sent to collections?

I closed my account and stopped all services after my husband died, but it appears as if I’m still being charged for services. I got a notice today that I’m being sent to collections. Xfinity assistant is no help, it can’t see anything because my account is closed and won’t connect me to an agent. Please help me resolve this!
