Why am i being charged more than what I’m paying?

So i got streaming cable box/wifi package a few month ago but out of nowhere i was charged more than my monthly charge as i only pay $190 but the total charge went to $440 which included forward balance like how is that even possible to having to pay more than your monthly charges cause it’s starting to make me disappointed and frustrated with this nonsense
