"We cannot accept bank payments on this account, please try a different method."

I was told by customer service that this would be a temporary issue and to try again a day later. The issue has persisted.

Thank you for reaching out. Sometimes if there are past issues with a specific type of payment or chargebacks that happened a payment method will be blocked from being used in the future. Have there been issues with bank payments in the past @user_a9bqau?

@XfinityDena​ The previous bank account which was used as the automatic payment method was compromised. I had forgotten it was connected to this account until a payment was missed. I just want to replace it with the new bank account.

We are sorry to hear about that account compromise issue,

user_a9bqau. When things of this nature happen, and the payment is still attempted on a compromised, account, we do freeze payments on the impacted payment method, so an alternate such as a bank or credit card will need to be used.

@XfinityDena​ Is there any way to unblock bank account payments on a new account?

@XfinityShawn That does not help. The issue is that there is block on my account from adding a new bank account payment method.
