Was told false information about a "free ipad", I opened a fraud case after 6 months of frustration
Hi, I had Xfinity internet service first. Then in Sept. 2024, online chat agents (two of them) told me Xfinity would give me an ipad and a mobile line would be opened for it. The total (monthly cost of the ipad and mobile line) would be around $40 but they said "Don't worry, a $40 discount will be applied to my internet bill payment, for a total 24 months". Essentially they told me I would get the ipad for free after 24 months. I agreed to take the ipad and had a mobile line opened for the ipad. But every month after Sept. 2024, no $40 discount was automatically applied to my internet bill. I had to call Xfinity every month and an agent would create a case then issue a manual credit of $40. Starting March 2025, I've not been able to get an agent to apply the $40 discount. After talking to a customer service supervisor and a store manager, I decided to open a fraud case with Xfinity after both of them told me they couldn't help me. Basically I was given false information about a promotion which led me trapped me in a contract. I do have a copy of the transcript of online chat with the agents to show you the false information I was given during the chat. So, I have a Xfinity fraud ticket [Edited: "Personal Information"], but I've not heard anything back from that department.
