Using a credit or debit card for autopay

So now you have to use a checking account for autopay or you loose $5 on your autopay discount. Most of the people who do not have access to these accounts are poor or marginalized but Comcast has no problem adding a $5 surcharge to their bills. On the cheapest internet plans with a subsidy that works out to over a 15% increase because they can't afford or qualify for a bank account. It's nice to know that Comcast nickel and dimes everyone equally, even the poorest amongst us.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to us. We certainly understand your concern and value your feedback. Using automatic payments and Paperless Billing is hassle-free, convenient, green and secure. Bank payments are preferred because they're flexible and stable, and have less fraud than other payment methods not to mention the autopay discount is $10 for bank payment (ACH) or $5 for credit or debt card payments. Did you have any other questions or concerns that I can assist you with?

The answer is confusing at best. Insufficient detail to make it clear. If a bill of $75 was paid by credit card previously, what would the payment be:

1 When using a banks automatic bill pay?

2 When using a bank account in autopay on the Xfinity site?

3 When using a credit card in autopay on the Xfinity site?

The answer to those in dollar amounts would be helpful.

In the pursuit of transparency please provide an answer to the three questions using the example provided by user_a0dba1.

Hello, @user_03f741. The autopay and paperless statements give you a discount off your promotion pricing, so I wanted to give a break down of how that reflects to your promotion pricing and billing.

To be as transparent as possible, you can receive a $10 discount off your promotion rate by setting up autopay with a checking account and paperless statements based on the promotion eligibility requirements. You can receive a $5 discount off your promotion pricing by setting up autopay with debit/credit card and paperless statements.

So if your promotion price was $85, and you were eligible for the additional discount with autopay and paperless statements. Setting up a credit card for autopay would have your billing be $80. Setting up with a checking account the bill would be $75. If you set up a direct payment through your bank, it wouldn't give you a discount as autopay needs to be set up on your account online or through the great Xfinity App.
