Urgent Request for Compensation Due to Repeated Unannounced Internet Outages

I am writing to express my profound frustration and discontent regarding the latest so-called “planned maintenance” that caused an internet outage at 12:30 AM today, completely disrupting my ability to work. This is not the first time this has happened, and it continues to be unacceptable. I work 10-hour shifts, and this unannounced maintenance has already caused me to lose 6 full hours of work—and potentially more, as the service is not expected to be restored until 6 AM, with no guarantee it will be back on time. How can this be called “planned maintenance” when no notice is given to your customers? This repeated issue is not only unprofessional but also demonstrates a clear disregard for your customers.

The financial impact of this outage is significant. At the rate I am paid, those 6 hours of lost work represent a serious hardship. In fact, those hours alone more than cover my entire Xfinity bill for the month, with some extra to spare. I specifically subscribed to your most expensive internet plan, with unlimited data and the highest speed you offer—2 Gbps—because my work demands reliable service. This outage—and the previous ones—show a complete lack of accountability, especially in neighborhoods where you hold a monopoly and seem to think you can act without consequence.

It’s important to recognize that many people nowadays work overnight and rely on your service to perform their jobs. Your failure to provide advance notice or maintain reliable service directly impacts livelihoods. I demand a full credit for my bill this month. Even that will not make me whole, as it won’t repay the income I have lost due to your lack of communication and reliability. I expect a prompt response and resolution to this issue.

@Capcana2 Thank you for reaching out to my team about the recent maintenance work in your area. I work from home as well and know it can be stressful when our connection isn't working properly. To get the most up-to-date information about planned work in your area and request a credit for down time, you can always visit our status page. The Xfinity app is a helpful tool to troubleshoot any issues and even schedule an appointment with a technician when needed.
