Upgrade and keep service discount

I want to upgrade my internet speed, but I currently have a service discount of $23. When I look at new plans for the speed I want, it seems that service discount is still possible as it shows $65/month. However, when I try to upgrade, it gives me $75/month. I want to know if it is possible for me to upgrade and keep/renew the better service discount. I tried to ask in xfinity assistant chat but they just sent me a link to the upgrade/'shop deals' page I already visited. Not helpful.

Hello, @user_728h9z Have you factored in the Self-service discount we offer with our promotions? Sounds like that may be the missing piece to this puzzle. The automatic payment and paperless billing discount is a monthly statement credit offered to new and existing eligible customers when enrolled in automatic payments and paperless billing. The amount of the discount is determined by your automatic payment method:

  • $10 for payments made directly from a checking or savings bank account
  • $5 for payments made from a credit or debit card

Yes I did. I have a $23/month discount in addition to $10/month for auto pay with checking and whatever the discount is for paperless billing.

Great! @user_728h9z Let's take a look and see if we can get you that same deal.

Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? To send a direct message:

  1. In the top right corner, you'll see a little chat icon near the bell icon. Click the direct message icon
  2. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  3. In the 'To' line, type "Xfinity Support" there. A drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list (an "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line)
  4. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  5. Press Enter to send it. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond. Thanks!

In case anyone is wondering, no they were not helpful and the 'deal' they offered was $10 MORE than what I could have set up for myself through the website. Basically zero service discount or appreciation for remaining a customer (not that I have much of a choice where I live). Xfinity does NOT care about customer retention, only getting new customers. Typical.

@user_728h9z, We appreciate you talking with us today, and we are sorry we couldn't provide you with a promotion that fits your budget. If you see a promotion online, we encourage you to try to make the change yourself as some promotions are online only. Your loyalty is very important to us, and we want you to be able to enjoy as many services as you want but as costs rise every year it can be hard to find the lower pricing.

If you need anything in the future please feel free to make another post and a Digital Specialist, Forums Expert, or community member will help you as soon as possible. I hope you have a great rest of your day and Happy New Year.
