try changing email but says already taken

I'm trying to change my account email to the one I use all the time but it tells me it is already in use.

My email is correct and I am not using it anywhere.

I did use it about 15 years ago at a different address but I closed that account.

Can you help?

user_vdslxg We appreciate you reaching out to us over our Community Forums. We would be more than happy to help get you pointed in the right direction. Are you trying to use a Comcast.net email, or a 3rd party email address for new or existing Xfinity services?

I’ve never used the comcast email. Currently I’m using a gmail account but need to change to a yahoo account.

Could I give you the yahoo email I need to use so maybe you can check where it is being used?

user_vdslxg It sounds like that email may be tied to an old Xfinity profile. Our team wouldn't be able to help redirect it, however our Customer Security Assurance Team (CSA) may be able to help. To reach the CSA Team you will need to call 800-Xfinity (934-6489), and ask to be transferred to the CSA Team.

Excellent! Thank you! They are great help and will get that fixed for you, user_vdslxg! This is their contact us page, https://spa.xfinity.com/contact-us if you need to see their hours or number.
