Treatment of Current Customers

I am a current customer with xfinity and have been for the past 3 or so years. I initially signed up for internet with xfinity on a promotional offer. I chose the slowest internet speed offered at the time which I believe was 100 Mbps as I do not game and just need internet for browsing and occasional streaming. My bill increased $15 per month at the end of the promotional period which I was aware of. I called to see if there were any offers I could take advantage of that would reduce my current bill. I was told that there wasn't any offers and that the 100 Mbps was no longer even offered and that I would now be paying for the faster speed (which I don't need) of 300 Mbps. Fast forward to now, and my bill is near $37 more per month than when I first became a customer. I feel that I'm paying more now for something I don't need (faster internet speed) and didn't sign up for initially and being punished for being a loyal customer. Meanwhile new customers pay a lot less than me. It's obvious and frustrating that xfinity does not care or value the loyal customers that they have. It's clear they would rather have a customer for a few years and then lose them forever than have loyal customers for life.
