Text Stating I Am Being Sent to Collections

I recently received a text from the Xfinity Assistant stating:

Your Xfinity account has been placed for collection with Sequium Asset Solutions, LLC, a collection agency. Sequium Asset Solutions, LLC will contact you to resolve your outstanding balance. Make a payment at [link] California Debt Collector License No. 10316-99

However, I have not missed any payments and do not have any outstanding charges on my account.

How can I determine if this text is real or if there is something I need to do?

Hello @user_zm3kuk, thank you for taking the time to leave a post. Sorry, this caused concern. It’s definitely unsettling to receive a message like that, especially when you know your account is up-to-date. I can completely understand why you’d question whether it’s legitimate or if something unexpected is going on. This isn’t the experience we want for you, and you did the right thing by pausing before taking action. We’d be happy to help take a closer look with you to confirm whether the message is valid and make sure your account is in good standing.

If you could send our team a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, we'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

How to send us a direct message:

  1. Click "Sign In" if necessary.
  2. Click the "Direct Messaging" icon.
  3. Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
  4. In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support."
  5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  6. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
  7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
  8. Press Enter to send it.
